Περιγραφή:	Despite nearly two centuries of cultural exchange, political influence, and conflict between the Achaemenid Empire (ca. 550-330 BC) and the Greek world, the identification and dating of Achaemenid cultural artifacts found in Greece remains a significant challenge in Classical studies. The complexity and fusion of artistic styles, as well as the borrowing of motifs between cultures, make it difficult to definitively identify and interpret Achaemenid period remains amidst the numerous objects attributed to the Classical and Hellenistic periods. Nonetheless, Achaemenid cultural artifacts, while sharing broader similarities with the ancient cultures of Western Asia, possess distinct artistic features and a unique stylistic identity. This article focuses on two silver phialai discovered in Grave B of the Derveni cemetery in Macedonia (northern Greece). Most artifacts from this cemetery, including these silver bowls, are dated to the late 4th century BC, or the Late Classical / Early Hellenistic period. By comparing the types and analyzing similar examples from the Achaemenid world, this article will present evidence suggesting the possibility of an Achaemenid origin for these bowls. In addition to exploring the historical and cultural significance of these two phialai, I will propose a possibility that can explain their deposition in the Derveni cemetery.
